12 cups popped popcorn
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sliced toasted almonds
1/2 cup roasted unsalted peanuts
1 cup white chocolate chips
Lightly grease a large bowl and place the popcorn in it.In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water and cook over medium heat to the soft ball stage, 235 to 238 degrees F on a candy thermometer. Off the heat very carefully, add the butter (it will boil furiously), stir in the chocolate and vanilla.
Very carefully, slowly pour the hot chocolate mixture over the corn, stirring to prevent from lumping. Continue stirring until the mixture is cooled and the popcorn is evenly coated. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine and coat. Turn out onto a silpat or a greased foil-lined sheet pan. Let cool, then store in airtight containers. Great gift idea for any occasion.

Another good thing about not having to work today was I didn’t have to drive in the snow storm we got this morning that was a good thing as I have a small car and it tends to go all over the road not a good thing when you drive over 40 miles through snow. Anyways lets just hope they settle this strike and that it don’t last more than two weeks.

There was a man who had worked all of his life,
saved all of his money, and was a real miser when it
came to his money.
Just before he died, he said to his wife, “When I die,

casket with me. I want to take my money to the

And so he got his wife to promise him with all of her
heart that when he died, she would put all of the

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me and my brother
who is four years older than I am. I was maybe 3 and a half years old
and had just recovered from an accident in which my arm had been broken
among other injuries.
Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a get-well gift and it was
one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the
evening news and my brother was playing nearby in the living room when I
brought Daddy a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water. After several
cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My
Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea,
because it was ‘just the cutest thing!!’
My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of
tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up, then says, ‘Did it ever
occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the
toilet??
Two old men decide they are close to their last days and decide to have a last night on the town.
After a few drinks, they end up at the local brothel. The madam takes one look at the two old geezers and whispers to her manager; “Go up to the first two bedrooms and put an inflated doll in each bed.
